ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar organized 'CIWA Krushi Upayogi Gyan Mela -2024' on 7 March 2024 at Balipatna, Khordha to create awareness among farm women about various women friendly technologies. Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Bhubaneswar graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Hon'ble MP advised the participants about for adopting the importance of proper packaging and labeling of their products to create more demand and earn more income. In addition, Hon'ble MP stressed upon gaining knowledge by farm women in their respective areas to achieve the desired goal. Dr. Mridula Devi, Director, ICAR-CIWA Bhubaneswar delineated about the importance of Custom Hiring for drudgery reduction and Income Generation by the farm women. The Director also highlighted the importance of Nutri-Smart-Village for enriching family nutrition and livelihood security of farm families. Shri Kriti Kant Pradhan, Marketing Manager, Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) briefed about the role of PPL in capacity building of rural women in the field of Drone Pilot training. Dr A. K. Panda, Head, Division of GF &CS highlighted the objectives of Krushi Upayogi Gyan Mela for sensitizing the farm families. An exhibition was also organized to display various items prepared by women SHGs. Around 300 participants attended the program. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Head, Division of GF &CS and Dr. Sabita Mishra, Pr. Scientist, ICAR-CIWA Bhubaneswar.
