Training programme on “Fodder production and rejuvenation of cashew orchard"

A training programme on “Fodder production and rejuvenation of cashew orchard” was organized in Giringaput village, Khurda district under Model village project on 30 September 2013 in which 36 farmers including 23 women participated. Dr. Anil Kumar, Principal Scientist (LPM) explained about the benefits of feeding green fodder to animals and the methods to grow them. Dr. A.K. Shukla, Principal Scientist (Horticulture) deliberated upon the methods to rejuvenate the old and senile cashew orchard by pruning and integrated nutrient management. Dr. M.P. Arya, Principal Scientist (Agronomy) explained about the project objectives to the farmers. Dr. Sujit Nayak and Mr. Sanjay Behera assisted in organizing the programme. On this occasion rooted slips of hybrid napier and fertilizer were distributed among the farm women.
