Swachhata Diwas and Special Campaign 3.0 was observed by ICAR-CIWA. At the outset, Dr Mridula Devi, Director, ICAR-CIWA welcomed the Chief Guest Mrs. Manjulata Kanhar, Deputy Mayor, BMC, Bhubaneswar and other dignitaries of BMC, Shri Dipak Kumar Mishra, Corporator; Shri Suvendhu Kumar Sahoo, Addl. Commissioner; Shri Rabinarayan Jethy, Zonal Deputy commissioner alongwith all staff of ICAR-CIWA and staff of BMC. Dignitaries and staff paid respect and homage to Mahatma Gandhi, father of the Nation. A zonal level tree plantation programme on Gandhi Jayanti was organised in collaboration with BMC in which 100 saplings of fruits and flower were planted in the institute. Director, ICAR-CIWA detailed about the activities undertaken during the Swachhata hi Sewa programme on the theme "Garbage free India" and Swachhata Special Campaign 3.0 citing various on and off campus activities including the awareness campaign in schools, villages and religious places, market and other nearby places. She appreciated the activities of BMC in making the city clean green and beautiful for building a SMART CITY. Mrs. Manjulata Kanhar, Deputy Mayor, BMC appreciated ICAR-CIWA staff for such a great initiative of making the surrounding clean, green and healthy. The programme was coordinated by Dr Biswanath Sahoo, Nodal, Swachha Bharat Abhiyan and Co Nodals, Dr Arpita Mohapatra and Dr Tania Seth.
