ICAR-CIWA organised awareness and capacity building programme and distribution of Agricultural inputs to women SC farmers @ Bharat ki Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav

ICAR-CIWA organised awareness and capacity building programme under the project "Development of women entrepreneurship in Livestock and fisheries sector for promoting gender equity and strengthening livelihood" in the post COVID scenario at Khalgaon and Aniang villages of Balikuda block, Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha on 22nd Sept. 2021 following COVID guidelines. Eighty one farm women belong to scheduled caste community participated in the programme. The farm women were made aware about scientific poultry farming and goat farming for higher income and improving livelihood support of farm women through entrepreneurship mode. Various inputs and women friendly agricultural tools and implements i.e garden hoe, spade, bill hook, rose can, crow bar, bucket, milk cane with strainer, sickle, tip hoe, mineral mixture etc. were demonstrated and distributed to 81 SC farm women under SCSP scheme in the presence of Sh. Gobinda Sethi, local Sarapanch and Dr Banoj Pati, Veterinary doctor. The programme was coordinated by Dr A.K. Panda, Dr B. Sahoo and Sh. M. Prusty as a part of Bharat ki Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav to commemorate 75 years of India's independence.
