''Entrepreneurship development through improved methods of backyard poultry rearing''

A capacity building programme titled ''Entrepreneurship development through improved methods of backyard poultry rearing'' under the project 'Developing gender sensitive model for doubling farmers’ income by addressing gender concerns and technological gaps' was organized at Village Nuasahi in Puri district on 8 November, 2019.
Dr. A.K. Panda, Principal Scientist imparted training on improved poultry rearing practices for additional income generation and healthy living. The technical talk covered the subjects of housing, feeding, day-to-day management of poultry farm including vaccination, and taking up poultry farming in business mode.
Dr. Jyoti Nayak, Principal Scientist delivered a technical talk on reducing occupational health hazards, and also on health and nutrition of farmwomen and children. On this occasion, poultry chicks, feed, medicines for disease management and other infrastructural materials for poultry housing were also distributed to the participants. The programme was coordinated by Dr. J. Charles Jeeva and Er. Subrat Kr. Das from ICAR-CIWA. A cluster of 50 farmwomen benefitted from the progarmme.
