The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar observed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31 October, 2018. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated on 31 October every year as annual commemoration of the birthday of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the founding leaders of Republic of India. The intent is to pay tribute to Vallabhbhai Patel, who was instrumental in keeping India united.

The programme started with the inaugural address by Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA. It was followed by National Unity pledge taken by all the staff and formation of human chain in the shape of India map. An unity run was also organized, in which all the staff members, including contractual staff, irrespective of caste and creed participated with enthusiasm.
