To give a fitting tribute to the Bharat Ratna late Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, former Prime Minister of India, a programme was organized at ICAR-CIWA on 16-09-2018 on his first monthly death anniversary. The programme was organized by the Staff Recreation Club (SRC) of the Institute. On the occasion, floral tribute was offered the Late Prime Mister. The life journey of the Late Prime Minister was described on this occasion. Sh. Vajpayee Ji was an orator par excellence and the audience remained spell bound whenever he spoke. He was a person liked by all, across the party line and his services were sought by the government of the day even though he did not belong the party in power. As a Prime Minister Sh. Vajpayee Ji had initiated several work of national importance, the benefits of which the present generation is reaping. The members of the SRC also paid their tributes in glowing terms to the Late Prime Minister. The patron of the SRC and Director Dr S. K .Srivastava, shared that in his school days, whenever there was a public meeting of Sh. Vajpayee Ji, all the school children would go to listen him and he was witness to such an event in Balrampur, the first Parliamentary constituency of the Late PM. Thereafter, recital of the poems composed by the poet, Sh. Vajpayee Ji was done by the staff members of the Institute. The audience regaled in the poems which touched upon the themes of valour and nationalism. In his poem 'ज़िन्दगी का दस्तावेज़', published in 1988, the politician-poet Late Sh. Vajpayee Ji , philosophically wrote, “मौत की उम्र क्या / दो पल की भी नहीं (What’s the life span of death / Not even a few moments)." The programme ended with vote of thanks by the president of the Staff Recreation Club.
