Research Advisory Committee meeting of ICAR-CIWA conducted during 28-29 August, 2018

The 19h Meeting of Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture was held during 28-29 August, 2018 at the Institute in Bhubaneswar. The following Members of Research Advisory Committee attended the meeting.

Besides the Committee Members, Dr. B.N. Sarangi, Emeritus Scientist and 12 Scientists of ICAR-CIWA participated in the meeting.
At the outset, S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA welcomed the Chairperson, Members of RAC and other participants to the meeting. He also expressed his gratitude to Dr. N.S. Rathore, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education) and Dr. P.S. Pandey, ADG (EP&HS) for their continuous support and guidance for development of the Institute. Dr. V. N. Sharda, Chairperson of RAC, in his opening remarks, placed on record his appreciation for the visionaries, who dedicatedly built this Institute, and for it’s present growth from a National Research Centre to Central Institute. He also expressed that the programmes should cover all the agro-ecological regions in the country. Holistic data on the involvement of women in agriculture and allied sectors should be analyzed. Dr. P.S. Pandey advised the Scientists to work in a programme mode rather than on commodity mode. He also opined that AICRP on Home Science should serve as a feeder to this Institute in validating and complimenting the research inputs.
The Action Taken Report (ATR) on the recommendations of 18th RAC was presented by Dr. J. Charles Jeeva, Member-Secretary, RAC. Dr. S.K. Srivastava presented the salient research achievements in the past and the future perspectives of ICAR-CIWA. After deliberation on the research achievements of previous and ongoing projects, and future perspective of ICAR-CIWA, the Committee made the recommendations. The Meeting ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. J. Charles Jeeva.
