‘SCIENTIST- FARMER INTERFACE’ celebrated at village Hariharapur, Naygarh District

A scientist farmer interface was held at Hariharapur village, Nayagarh on 25.04.2018 under the project "Improving availability of quality pulse seeds involving women”. Sixty farm women participated in the programme. The interface focused mainly on organic farming, off season vegetable cultivation, integrated pest management of pulses as well as other vegetable and rice crop, fruit cultivation at home stead land etc. During the interface, the prospects of farmer producer organization was also discussed. The farm women were encouraged for enhancing their pulse production, through improved varieties, optimum care of soil health, integrated pest and disease management. Linkages with e-NAM and other digital markets were also discussed during the interface. The farm women got an opportunity to clarify their queries related to farming. Necessary planting materials/ seeds of vegetables were distributed to farm women for planting in their homestead kitchen garden. The programme was organized by Dr. S.K. Srivastav, Dr. L.P.Sahoo, Ms. Ankita Sahoo, Ms. Tapaswini Sahoo and Sri Sanjay Kumar Behera.
