Workshop on Gender Responsive Budgeting

A two-days Workshop on Gender Responsive Budgeting was organized by ICAR- Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar in association with National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), Ministry of Finance, Faridabad and UN-Women at ICAR-CIWA Bhubaneswar during 21-22 March, 2018.
Under the theme on 'Micro Approach to Gender Responsive Budgeting', topics viz., tools and techniques of gender budgeting (Agriculture), need assessment, planning and prioritization were dealt. Under the theme on 'Macro Approach to Gender Responsive Budgeting', topics viz., finalization of target population, allocation of resources, beneficiary component, monitoring of expenditure and outcome budget were covered. Group exercises on some case studies of gender responsive budgeting of ICAR- CIWA were also carried out. All the Scientific, Technical and Administrative Staff of ICAR-CIWA participated in the workshop.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA. Dr. Shikha Mathur Kumar and Dr. Reetu Sharma from NIFM, Ms. Seethalaxmi from UN-Women and Ms. Uppali Mohanty from Centre for Youth and Social Development participated in the workshop as Resource Persons. Dr. J. K. Sundaray, Director, ICAR-CIFA graced the valedictory programme as Chief Guest. The programme was coordinated by Dr. J. Charles Jeeva and Ms. Gayatri Moharana, Scientists, ICAR-CIWA.
