ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar celebrated 'Agricultural Education Day' at Government Nodal High School, CRP, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar. During the occasion quiz, debate and art competitions were organized among the school students. The topic of the debate competition was 'Importance of Agricultural Education: Need of the Hour'. Shri Susant Kumar Patra, Ex Head Master, Unit 6 Boys Highs School, Bhubaneswar was the Chief Guest of this occasion and inspired the children through his motivational speech. A total of 250 students, 30 school teachers participated in the progremme. The Valedictory Programme/ Award Ceremony, was organized on 5th December at ICAR-CIWA which is the concluding ceremony of the Agricultural Education Day, Women in Agriculture Day and World Soil Day. As a part of it Dr. P.C. Lenka, Ex HOD, Dept of Horticulture, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as Chief Speaker and delivered his speech and motivated school children. Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA distributed prizes to the winners at the end of the programme. This programme was coordinated by the Nodal Officer Ms Gayatri Moharana and Co Nodal Officer Dr. Biswanath Sahu with the help of team members Mrs. Ankita Sahu, Mr B.C Sahu, Er. Pragati Kishore Rout, Mr. Manoranjan Prusty and Mr. B.C. Behera.
