The Quinquennial Review Team (QRT) meeting for XII Plan period (2012-17) was held on 17-18 June 2017 at ICAR-CIWA. The QRT meeting was chaired by Dr. P Das, Chairperson QRT and Ex-DDG (Ag. Ext.) and attended by members: Dr. Mehtab S. Bamji, Director Grade Scientist, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, Dr. Vinita Sharma, Ex-Head, SEED Division, DST, New Delhi, Dr. Vandana Dwivedi, Additional Commissioner, INM, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, GOI and Dr. V P Chahal, Member Secretary and Assistant Director General (Ag. Ext.), ICAR, New Delhi. The Director ICAR -CIWA Dr. Jatinder Kishtwaria and the Scientists of the Institute also attended the meeting. The first meeting of the QRT for the XII Plan was held in 25-26 March 2017 at Bhubaneswar and the Committee also visited the AICRP (HS) Centres at TNAU, Madurai (21-23 April), PJTSAU, Hyderabad (21-22 April) and GBPUA&T, Pantnagar (19-21 May) and reviewed the work there. In this meeting the Committee deliberated in detail and finalized the recommendations for ICAR-CIWA and AICRP on Home Science for the XII Plan period. The draft report of the QRT was also discussed and finalized. The Hon'ble QRT members shared their vision for this Institute and exhorted the Scientists to take up the important issues women in agriculture face and advised them to work to find solution the problems, so that the agricultural development can be accelerated in the country. The Director, ICAR-CIWA, Dr. Jatinder Kishtwaria shared the important initiatives taken by the Institute in the recent past and also the informed about the linkages developed for gender research both within the country and with the International organizations. The meeting ended with thanks to the chair and members QRT and all associated with the meeting.
