Brainstorming workshop on “Promoting Agricultural Education among Rural Women for Entrepreneurship Development”

A brainstorming workshop on the theme "Promoting Agricultural Education among Rural Women for Entrepreneurship Development was conducted on 18th March, 2017 at ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Jatinder Kishtwaria, Director, ICAR- CIWA as the Chief Guest and Dr. B.N. Sarangi, Scientist Emeritus was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. Dr. H.K. Dash, Pri. Sci. delivered the welcome address. Dr. A.K.Panda, PI of the project gave a brief overview about the workshop’s objective. Dr B.N. Sarangi put forth the important human development variables to be considered for developing agriculture entrepreneurship among rural women. Dr. J. Kishtwaria aptly set the tone of the workshop with regard to the curriculum gearing up to prepare future cadres of agriculture and extension personnel for meeting the challenge of reaching out to farm women especially for agri entrepreneurship. Dr. A.K. Panda gave a presentation on the progress of the project followed by group discussion on Agricultural Education for entrepreneurship development for bringing roadmap to gear up the existing curriuculum to equip the students to enable the rural women and develop entrepreneurs among them through innovative methods of education. About 40 participants comprising of scientists, agri-educationists, RA, SRFs and post graduate students has participated in the workshop. The meeting ended with formal vote of thanks by Dr. B. Sahoo, Pri. Sci.,ICAR-CIWA.
