A two days Training-cum-Workshop on "Trends in Gender Research" of scientist's of ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar and AICRP on Home Science was organised in two phases. The workshop for foods and nutrition component was conducted during 15th-16th November,2016. On this occasion two eminent experts Dr. Vinita Sharma (Chairman, RAC, ICAR-CIWA), Dr. Mushtari Begum (Retd. Prof., Food & Nutrition, UAS, Bengaluru), graced the occasion and for other four components the training programme was organised on 26th-27th November, 2016 at ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of Dr Jatinder Kishtwaria, Director, ICAR-CIWA. She briefed about the expected work to be carried out by the distinguished scientists. Twelve scientists of AICRP of Home Science from HDFS, CT, HSEE, FRM components along with all scientists of ICAR-CIWA attended the above workshop. Dr. Vinita Sharma (Chairman, RAC, ICAR-CIWA), Dr. V.V. Sadamate (Ex-Adviser, Agriculture, Planning commission), Dr. K. Mayuri (Emeritus Scientist, PJTSAU, Hyderabad), Dr. Sharada Devi (Emeritus Scientist, PJTSAU, Hyderabad), Dr. B. N. Sadangi (Head, Social Science, ICAR-NRRI), Dr. Aloknath Roy (Head, ICAR-NIRJAFT), Dr. S. P. Singh (PS, FMP, ICAR-IARI), Dr. S. K. Mohanty (Assoc. Prof., FMP, OUAT) were the experts to give their valuable inputs to finalize the new project proposals. At the outset honourable Director, ICAR-CIWA briefed about the framework of the gender research. On 26th November, 2016, all the technical coordinators of above four components of AICRP on Home Science presented their new projects. After vigorous discussion by the eminent experts the proposed projects were finalized. Dr. Shivaji D. Argade, Scientist and Dr A. Sarkar, Sr. Scientist, ICAR-CIWA delivered a presentation on Gender Equity and Women Empowerment in Agril. Index. On 27th November, 2016 all the technical coordinators put forth their final project proposal. In the closing remarks, Director, ICAR-CIWA insisted on proper coordination and cooperation among the UCs and TCs with all the scientists. The workshop was ended with the valuable remarks by the experts.
